before we start, if you would like to read the about page just to give you some context as to the who, what, when, where, why of these write-ups, i would highly recommend.

healthy and energized
after my egg retrieval, i have been a balloon chicken on the couch, just bored, lazy, and in pain. today, i feel back to normal again!

“this is a gentle reminder that on the days you only have 30%, and you give 30%, you gave 100%”

one day miniseries on netflix
really sweet miniseries on how a one night hookup at college graduation turns into a lifelong friendship. why did i like it so much? (1) i’m an obnoxious romantic and (2) it wasn’t cheesy and was relatable. the struggles of real life events that everyone goes through in their 20s and 30s – struggling to keep in touch, define their friendship, and timing it all perfectly. it was an easy watch and something i crushed in a day. loved seeing leo woodall (aka jack from white lotus) in another series.

literally the two funniest guys just riffin’ off with dad jokes and tastefully raunchy pick-up lines. they also do funny bits like tenn-ASS competitions and more. if you are in the need of a giggle, you need to follow these guys.

medical update
just forewarning that my intention for every update is to be extremely short and brief, but since i am just starting this and a lot has happened, so let me catch you up…
crazy is an understatement, and i hope this theme ends by Q3 2024.
since getting diagnosed with breast cancer in january, i have gone to 27 doctors’ appointments, been on the phone with insurance for 12+ hours, and have given 20+ vials of blood. on top of that, i am also experiencing every major life change all at the same time – moving homes, changing medical insurance, job searching, looking for another situationship/husband, creating an llc, and just getting older stuff. i guess i am known for not doing anything half-assed… as toxic as i am, i accept the challenge with open arms – and i say let’s fucking goooo.
what has happened so far?
- found a mass on my left breast: i started working out at the gym, and was sore in my chest one day (damn, chest press) and when i was pressing down on my pecs (… and feelin’ myself), i felt a mass that wasn’t there before. with having family history with breast cancer, i always worried if i would know what a lump feels like – and trust me, you will feel a ball or mass
- went to the obgyn and after a physical exam, the nurse practitioner referred me to go to the local breast care center
- got a mammogram and ultrasound on both girlies where they could see masses in the visual tests (and they tell you the results on the spot)
- got a biopsy where they tested three parts of my left breast
- 4 days after my biopsy, i received a call to go into the obgyn office, where the nurse practitioner informed me i tested positive for breast cancer. on that same day, my bff and i split a couple bottles of wine at spanish bay in pebble beach and watched the kelce documentary on prime
- i selected my oncologist at ucsf (which is where i am moving) and was offered to go through a clinical trial (I-SPY, terrible name i know), which requires multiple tests that i am still going through today – PET, MRI, ECHO, EKG, eye, blood, urine, another research biopsy – you know, all the fun stuff.
- happy to report that the PET, EKG, eye, blood, and urine tests came back all great results – no other cancer detected and i’m the epitome of health everywhere else *knock on wood*
- happy to report that the PET, EKG, eye, blood, and urine tests came back all great results – no other cancer detected and i’m the epitome of health everywhere else *knock on wood*
- simultaneously, going through preserving my fertility by freezing my eggs – 2-3 injections per day, while also ensuring i don’t get OHSS since i have 60 eggs (which is double the amount of a 32-year-old, woohoo) – which is now complete and we got 35 frozen Ceglia’s!
- next up, yolo vibes for the next week while just finishing up the remaining tests, which means we start treatment on 3/5
